Benoit Courti is a french photographer living in Paris. Fascinated by photography since his childhood, he first embraced a career as a music composer before becoming a professional portrait/art photographer in 2010. Ashley Smith by Dan Martensen for The Sunday Telegraph Posted: 25 May 2012 05:02 AM PDT Dan was born and raised in Pleasantville New York. He has been involved in the arts since childhood, picked up a camera at age 12 and eventually studied photography at the Rhode Island School of Design. He worked as an assistant to photographers Alex Cayley, Tom Munro, Stephane Sednaoui and Annie Leibovitz. Dan’s work has been included in shows around the world including the New York Armory Photography show, and recently in an exhibtion at the acclaimed Dichtorhallen Museum in Hamburg. His portrait and fashion work has appeared in publications such as The Last Magazine, i-D, The New York Times, Interview, Dossier Journal, GQ, EXIT, V Man and Teen Vogue. Dan has shot campaigns for H&M, Costume National, Anna Sheffiield, Target and Converse One Star. He has collaborated with designers such as Alexander Wang and Evan Yurman. The Legendary Alfred Eisenstaedt Posted: 25 May 2012 04:56 AM PDT Alfred Eisenstaedt was born on December 6, 1898 in Dirschau, West Prussia. He became a professional photographer in Berlin and came under the influence of Erich Salomon. In 1935 he immigrated to New York City, where he became one of the first four photographers hired by Life Magazine. He contributed more than 2,500 picture stories and 90 cover photos to Life. He died in 1995. |
