Barbecoa-Jamie Oliver's New Restaurant Posted: 27 May 2011 06:18 AM PDT Jamie Oliver, in partnership with US chef Adam Perry Lang, has opened a new restaurant called Barbecoa. Located in the Jean Nouvel-designed One New Change near St Paul's cathedral, the Barbecoa's interior is designed by the interior design arm of Tom Dixon, Design Research Studio. Barbecoa is a 200 seater restaurant, 40 seater bar and a take-away venue and butcher. The 700m² project is spread across 3 units over 2 stories within the One New Change building. Design Research Studio has developed a concept that is sensitive to the historical surrounds of St Paul's cathedral and to the newly emerging context of the One New Change building. The scheme maximises views of St Paul's cathedral with a furniture layout that allows every customer to see the London landmark. + Design Research Studio |
Glass Tea Pot by Norm Architects Posted: 21 Mar 2011 02:06 AM PDT An elegant & functional beauty glass tea pot design by architects duo- NORM for manufacturer Menu, is a married of Scandinavian way of living with Japanese Zen-style. The Glass Teapot uniquely embraces the meeting of two traditions - the Asian zen philosophy and modern Scandinavian design. A special feature is the teapot's transparency that grants a visual experience of the tea and stimulates the senses of sight, touch and smell alike. As a fine design detail the tea egg is placed in the centre of the pot and is easily raised by pulling the attached silicon string when the tea is ready for serving. via NORM |
